Mr Rajat Sharma holds Master's degree (M Com) from the prestigious Shriram College of Commerce Delhi. Back then Mr Sharma was actively involved in student politics in University of Delhi.
Mr Rajat Sharma is the President of The News Broadcasters Association of India (NBA) and Vice President, Strategic Affairs of The Indian Broadcasting Foundation.
Mr. Sharma has led the way with the motto, “credibility first.” It is the result of the efforts of a self-made man who kept both his feet firmly to the ground, a journalist for whom the viewer’s interest has been paramount. His shows have many times forced Governments to change their ways in dealing with social reforms, environmental issues, and public welfare.
A corporate trainer turned artist-cum-entrepreneur Ghazal Alagh co-founded Honasa Consumer Pvt. Ltd. with Mamaearth as the first brand which was driven by a passion for making early parenting stress-free. At Honasa Consumer Pvt. Ltd., Ghazal spearheads innovation, community, and new brand & product initiatives. Being a millennial, she understands the psychology and personal care requirements of fellow millennials and works closely with a large number of consumers during the product development process to create products that address millennial problems.
Ghazal’s overarching vision is to make this world a better, and safer place filled with goodness of toxin- free, MadeSafe-certified products along with purpose-fueled initiatives. With the objective of solving millennial skin concerns, Ghazal launched The Derma Co. in 2020 to help consumers achieve #FilterFree skin and Aqualogica in 2021, a hydration-based skin care brand uniquely crafted for Indian skin and tropical weather. With a bachelor’s in information technology and Intensive Courses in Modern Art, Design and Applied Arts from New York Academy of Arts, she started her career with NIIT as a Corporate Trainer. As a part of this role, she trained managers and engineers from various IT companies in SQL, J2ME, and Oracle. Ghazal has been recognized as Business World 40 under 40 and Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2021 by Entrepreneur India. Owing to her talent, she is amongst the top 10 women artists in India, and appeared as a Shark on Shark Tank India has put her at the entrepreneurial forefront. Having straddled three different roles, Ghazal has a diverse skillset that helps her build Honasa Consumer Pvt. Ltd. and attain a Unicorn status in just 5 years.

He founded Guardian Pharmacy in India in 2003 andgrew it to the second largest pharmacy chain in Indiawith over 200 stores. He also brought in GNC as a nutraceutical partner to India. Ashutoshexited from the company he founded,in August 2016.

Ashutoshhas served as a director of GAVI, TheVaccine Alliance(www.gavi.org),headquartered in Geneva,for 8 years. His wife Vera is a Historian and teaches at the American Embassy School, New Delhi. His older son, Varun works for Visain Singaporeas their Senior Director andhis younger son Ashwin works for Procter and Gamble in Fayetteville, Arkansasas their SeniorDirector.
A keengolfer, he plays the Indian flute and enjoys reading and listening to Indian classical and vocal music.
He moved to Rockefeller in 2022 after a 25 year career at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where he was Head of Emerging Markets and Chief Global Strategist.
Sharma has been a writer for longer than he has been an investor. At age 17 he started writing for India’s largest economic daily, The Economic Times. His commentary has since appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, The Washington Post, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, Bloomberg and The Guardian, among others. He was a contributing opinion writer at the New York Times from 2016 to 2021 and is currently a contributing editor and columnist at the Financial Times.
Based in New York and Miami, he typically spends one week every month traveling the world, visiting different countries, meeting with leading politicians, CEOs, and other local characters, who populate his writing.
Sharma is the author of four books. His most recent, The 10 Rules of Successful Nations, was published by Norton in 2020. It is an updated and abridged adaptation of The Rise and Fall of Nations: Forces of Change in the Post-Crisis World, which was released in 2016 and became a New York Times best seller. In 2012, his first book, Breakout Nations: In Pursuit of the Next Economic Miracles, debuted as the number one bestseller in India, and earned Sharma the Tata Literature Live! First Book Award for 2012. Breakout Nations also made the Wall Street Journal hardcover business bestseller list, and was chosen by Foreign Policy as one of its “21 Books to Read in 2012”.
The World Economic Forum cited Sharma as one of its “Top Young Leaders” in 2007. In 2012, Foreign Policy magazine cited Sharma as one of its top global thinkers and the following year, India’s premier weekly magazine Outlook named him as one of The World’s 25 Smartest Indians. Bloomberg ranked Ruchir among the world’s 50 Most Influential people in 2015. The following year, GQ India named Sharma the Global Indian of the Year and Barron’s put him on its cover as “Wall Street’s New Global Thinker.”
Sharma is passionate about politics and has covered every national election in India, and many major state contests, going back to 1998. He led the first trip with three journalist friends, and the pack has since grown to 20 regulars and a few guest travelers. They typically travel a 1,000 miles over a week, and have interviewed everyone from local voters to national leaders, including Narendra Modi and the Gandhis. These travels are captured in his 2019 book, Democracy on the Road: a 25-year Journey Through India.
Sharma’s other interests include athletics and he continues to train for the 100 and 200 meters sprints. No matter where he is in the world, or how hectic his schedule, he tries not to miss a single day of training. In 2011, he represented India in the World Masters Athletic championship in Sacramento. Sharma also has a keen interest in wildlife and cinema and attends international film festivals when he can find a moment away from investing, writing and running.
She has been responsible for breaking a range of news stories that have redefined the Indian economic landscape in recent times and has also interviewed some of the biggest names in business and politics, both domestic and global. Shereen is also the Anchor & Editor of theaward winning show 'Young Turks', one of India's longest running shows on entrepreneurship –a section that over the last 20years has successfully built a niche category in business news programming.
Shereen is also the Author of Young Turks, a book published by Random House India. Shereen has interviewed some of the biggest names in Business from legendary investor Warren Buffet to Bill Gates, Satya Nadella, Richard Branson, Sheryl Sandberg, Indra Nooyi to name just a few. Things to know about the event
1. Who can attend RIE 2022?
RIE 2022 is open to all members and SLP’s of EO.
2. What is the cost of RIE 2022?
Costs of attending RIE 2022 can be found on the registrations page.
3.What does the registration fee include?
The registration fee includes entry for all learning events, Socials, all meals from high tea on 15TH DECEMBER to Dinner on 17TH DECEMBER and off-sites. It does not include visa cost, airfares, airport transfers, accommodation or any personal expenses.
4. What is the last date for registration?
This is a limited capacity event. Registrations will close when we reach our capacity or by the 10th of December, whichever comes first. Amendments to this policy are subject to any change of rules of the government and the decision will be taken by the RIE Committee accordingly. This will be updated on the website.
5. I am a new member, can I use my Event Voucher Discount for RIE?
Yes, a member who has joined EO on or after 2 April 2019 is eligible to use the Event voucher for RIE. If you satisfy this criteria, please click on the checkbox on the website that says “I want to use my Event Voucher”. Your registration will be on hold while the RIE team verifies this and a payment link will be sent to you once this is completed. You will pay RIE Registration Fee less the value of the Event Voucher. Registration will be completed only once the payment is completed and verified.
