RIE 2022 – RISE : A 3 day event which brings together members from across the geographies for a deep dived learning, networking, making new connections and renewing the existing ones, clubbed with spectacular once in a lifetime socials and specially curated experiences. It celebrates the global RISE of the entrepreneurial spirit.

Mr Rajat Sharma holds Master's degree (M Com) from the prestigious Shriram College of Commerce Delhi. Back then Mr Sharma was actively involved in student politics in University of Delhi.
Mr Rajat Sharma is the President of The News Broadcasters Association of India (NBA) and Vice President, Strategic Affairs of The Indian Broadcasting Foundation.

With the objective of solving millennial skin concerns, Ghazal launched The Derma Co. in 2020 to help consumers achieve #FilterFree skin and Aqualogica in 2021, a hydration-based skin care brand uniquely crafted for Indian skin and tropical weather. With a bachelor’s in information technology and Intensive Courses in Modern Art, Design and Applied Arts from New York Academy of Arts, she started her career with NIIT as a Corporate Trainer. As a part of this role, she trained managers and engineers from various IT companies in SQL, J2ME, and Oracle. Ghazal has been recognized as Business World 40 under 40 and Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2021 by Entrepreneur India. Sharma has been a writer for longer than he has been an investor. At age 17 he started writing for India’s largest economic daily, The Economic Times. Sharma is the author of four books. His most recent, The 10 Rules of Successful Nations, was published by Norton in 2020. Sharma is passionate about politics and has covered every national election in India, and many major state contests, going back to 1998. He led the first trip with three journalist friends, and the pack has since grown to 20 regulars and a few guest travelers. They typically travel a 1,000 miles over a week, and have interviewed everyone from local voters to national leaders, including Narendra Modi and the Gandhis. These travels are captured in his 2019 book, Democracy on the Road: a 25-year Journey Through India.
Sharma’s other interests include athletics and he continues to train for the 100 and 200 meters sprints. No matter where he is in the world, or how hectic his schedule, he tries not to miss a single day of training. In 2011, he represented India in the World Masters Athletic championship in Sacramento. Sharma also has a keen interest in wildlife and cinema and attends international film festivals when he can find a moment away from investing, writing and running.
She has been responsible for breaking a range of news stories that have redefined the Indian economic landscape in recent times and has also interviewed some of the biggest names in business and politics, both domestic and global. Shereen is also the Anchor & Editor of theaward winning show 'Young Turks', one of India's longest running shows on entrepreneurship –a section that over the last 20years has successfully built a niche category in business news programming.

Kunal is an active participant in India's start-up ecosystem and a prolific technology investor. He has invested in more than 250 start-ups across various sectors through Titan Capital in consumer tech, health tech, fin-tech, SaaS, consumer brands, and B2B services in companies like Ola Cabs, Urban Company, Razorpay, Shadowfax, Bira, Beardo, Khatabook, Mamaearth, among others.
Kunal is an influential voice on issues pertaining to Indian start-ups and entrepreneurship. He is a member of the Executive Council at NASSCOM, a member of the National Startup Advisory Council and an elected member of the Board of Governors of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER). Asish started his professional career at ITC as an Operations Manager in 2002. There, he turned around a sick ITC subsidiary SME into a fully functional production unit with more than INR 1,000 crore annual turnover within two years. In 2006, he went on to become an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company with manufacturing and pharmaceuticals as his key domains. He then moved to Matrix Partners as a venture capitalist from 2010 to 2015, leading 7 investments in healthcare and consumer.
Post that, Asish co-founded (with 4 other colleagues) OfBusiness in 2016 and Oxyzo in 2018. OfBusiness, in a span of less than 6 years, has built amongst the most scaled, profitable, leveraged and engaged B2B enterprises (valued at US$5B+ institutionally and $9B in secondary exits) in India. It provides raw material fulfilment across supply chains ranging from metals to plastics, food grains, garments, petrochemicals and industrial chemicals. Oxyzo (also a unicorn, valued at $1B+ independently) is a financial services company, which largely has been built to support the commerce industry with its innovative product called “purchasing financing”. Today, Oxyzo has built its product suite across many other financial services.
An avid family man, Asish is a published poet, a sketch artist, a sports enthusiast and a trivia lover. He counts IIT Kharagpur (B. Tech, Mechanical Engg, 2002) and ISB Hyderabad (MBA, 2006) as his Alma matters.
Vishesh leads the execution of the Firm’s strategy and vision
and is responsible for its operations and growth.
Vishesh drives the Firm’s relationship with some of the most
dynamic private, public, and multinational clients and assists
them in unlocking their growth potential. He has been
involved with UK and US IPOs of several Indian businesses
and cross-border acquisitions by Indian companies and has
helped global multinationals succeed in India.
For over 20 years, Vishesh has been one of the most vocal
promoters of the need for Indian family businesses to adopt
formal governance structures and succession planning
frameworks, thereby preserving business legacy.
Vishesh has been the primary advisor to the World Bank’s
report, Observance of Standards and Codes (ROSC), on
accounting and auditing. In collaboration with large
corporates, the audit profession and regulators, the report set
out the action plan on accounting and auditing for India.
Vishesh works closely with the global Grant Thornton
network and its member firms. He has been associated with
several global committees, including the Senior Leadership
Program at SAID Business School, the University of Oxford,
and in incubating Global Research and Global Delivery from
India for benefit of the network. On 1 January 2016, Vishesh
became the youngest member to be elected to the Global
Board of Governors of Grant Thornton International Limited,
the ultimate decision-making authority within the Firm.
Vishesh is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of
Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, UK, and holds
a Master of Science in Business and Management from the
University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. He has been working
with Grant Thornton in the UK and India for over 20 years.
Gurcharan Das graduated in philosophy with honours (phi beta kappa) from Harvard University and later attended Harvard Business School (AMP) where he is featured in three case studies. He was CEO of Procter & Gamble India and Managing Director, Procter & Gamble Worldwide (Strategic Planning) before he became a full-time writer. He writes a regular column for the Times of India and five Indian language papers, and contributes to Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, and Foreign Affairs.
His other books include India Grows at Night: A liberal case for a strong state, which was on the FT’s best books for 2013; a novel, A Fine Family; a book of essays, The Elephant Paradigm, and an anthology, Three Plays. He is editing for Penguin a 15 volume history series, The Story of Indian Business.

Things to know about the event
1. Who can attend RIE 2022?
RIE 2022 is open to all members and SLP’s of EO.
2. What is the cost of RIE 2022?
Costs of attending RIE 2022 can be found on the registrations page.
3.What does the registration fee include?
The registration fee includes entry for all learning events, Socials, all meals from high tea on 15TH DECEMBER to Dinner on 17TH DECEMBER and off-sites. It does not include visa cost, airfares, airport transfers, accommodation or any personal expenses.
4. What is the last date for registration?
This is a limited capacity event. Registrations will close when we reach our capacity or by the 10th of December, whichever comes first. Amendments to this policy are subject to any change of rules of the government and the decision will be taken by the RIE Committee accordingly. This will be updated on the website.
5. I am a new member, can I use my Event Voucher Discount for RIE?
Yes, a member who has joined EO on or after 2 April 2019 is eligible to use the Event voucher for RIE. If you satisfy this criteria, please click on the checkbox on the website that says “I want to use my Event Voucher”. Your registration will be on hold while the RIE team verifies this and a payment link will be sent to you once this is completed. You will pay RIE Registration Fee less the value of the Event Voucher. Registration will be completed only once the payment is completed and verified.
